Diablo's Lining

The sun is setting on our love,
I'll take one look before it does,
Your solar visage searing down.
To burn me back into the ground.

Undying thanks in this vampire's pain,
And one last blood stained kiss.
For your lessons,
Energy and gain.
Now transparent to your bliss.

Shriek in my cloak,
Dissolve to mist!
Fragment clutched in gaseous fist.

So smash this limpet from it's shell!
Cast it from your sight!
Door ajar and never far,
Teeth smiling china white.
Beyond her crack shines evermore a green-eyed livid light.
And keep a hook sunk deep in me,
A bug tapped on the line.
To hear my every longing,
And reel me back in time.

So I'm not the first one?
Or so I've been told.
A bond born of desire,
To be loved and sold.
A pinky promise in the headlights,
Rain shimmering in the flood.
The birthing cry of ego,
Echoes through our blood.

But hindsight is an itch I scratch,
I bear that grinning scar.
It pulses deep inside my skull,
The dark mass in the star.
Which draws me ever inwards.
Then inwards takes me back.
And backwards leads me down,
A golden tear streaked track.
To my never ever lover,
Complicit sister,
Daughter...
...Mother?
And whatever else I claimed you'd be
To show to our big brother.

The inferno burns but lights the night.
Chains may be made from flowers.
Gripped in the demon's fist toil souls rejoicing in their power.
Silver lining in the lead is arsenic in the wine.
I'll suck this poison from your head and let it distil mine.

So take my hand
And crush it!
Keep it pinned to your allure.
A butterfly in the famine,
From the hungry come the pure.
